August Strindberg in Tallinn 2012

August Strindberg in Tallinn 2012.

Bie, August Strindberg and Jonne

Bie, August Strindberg and Katarina.

Swedish author August Strindberg visited KELDER in 19th November 2012. We where there. August has been dead in 100 years. But no, he was here.

A couple of days before he was in Tartu University. They had double booked Strindberg for a seminar just before he was coming to Kalamaja. But he managed. We just had to make some changes in the schedule. But as you see he was here. Painted by Bie.

Kristiina Ehin read poems, Sofia Joons on violin. Katarina Norling, showed her paintings "Strindbergs flora" based on the fact that Strindberg was a great lover of flowers and gardening. John-Erik Leth read some os Strindbergs famous citats. The evening started with Bie painting August Strindberg on the wall. Strindberg stayed on the wall until spring 2013. Then he got tired and moved away. He will stay in our memory for ever. I personally got to know him much better than before, and I think he was a quite sympathetic man. Very neurothic though.

Why?

Who?

When?

Where from?

So many many questions. To find an answer we made a short video. In Tallinn. Actor: John-Erik Leth. Camera: Bie. Music: John-Erik Leth. "A man who went of the train". We call him Jaan. Jaan has an important message.
